Just two weeks since his nail-biting victory at Round 1 in Coffs Harbour, and Jack 'Shark Attack' Moir has done it again on his home trail in Awaba, NSW.

What looked to be a dry and dusty weekend quickly turned wet with a downpour during Saturday afternoon's seeding. With seconds to go before Jack's run, the skies opened up, exposing new roots and rocks along the infamous Awaba DH trail.

Unfazed by the weather, Moir set the fastest time of 3:32:949 – a blistering 17 seconds faster than next fastest Graeme Mudd; another Awaba local and experienced worlds rider.

More weather on the morning of race day, as Jack's local mechanic Andy dials in the Prototype M29 DH rig for the main event. No tubeless worries this weekend, with a spare set of ENVE wheels, complete with flat-tire defenders ready to go.

Conditions dried up for the afternoon's race runs, allowing Jack to leave it on track and claim the win with a staggering time of 3:24.321, an unprecedented race time on Moir's home trail.

Jack poses for perhaps the last time with the prototype M29 rig – this week is the start of Intense Factory Racing team camp, where he & teammate Dean Lucas will get their fresh bikes for 2018's World Cup season.
