To celebrate the opening of the all-new INTENSE Race Track at the 4 RIDERS BIKE PARK in Avia (north of Barcelona, Spain) we had ourselves a little ‘INTENSE’ party. Due to Covid restrictions we were limited to the number of riders that could attend, but over 30 INTENSE owners and fans turned up for a day full of riding… and it was all free! It was a really fun event, with a nice laid back vibe, no pressure, just good times for all.
The 4 RIDERS BIKE PARK has been open for just over one year, but it is already becoming well known and respected throughout Europe. We already support the bike park as one of the title partners, but when the possibility of being part of designing and constructing a new World Cup level downhill track came about we jumped at the chance.
“I’ve seen the bike park grow from the very beginning, and it’s been my favorite place to go riding for the past year, but it was missing something, a true race track. When we started the partnership with the bike park our first request was to build a race track. The team (Jordi and Adria) have done an impressive job building this track in such a short period of time. It is really cool, it is my favorite track in the whole bike park. It features a bunch of natural sections that remind me of World Cup tracks and it really is worthy of the INTENSE name." Bernat Guardia, INTENSE European Marketing Manager
Jordi Junyent is the man with the plan and he leads the 4 RIDERS BIKE PARK. For our INTENSE project he worked closely with his team to produce a track that features a real mix of terrain (from natural to man-made hits), which will be a great challenge for all racers and riders.
“We love to build and with my background as a racer I wanted to make a track with sections that reminded me of World Cups. We walked the mountain with Bernat a few times to scope the best lines and we discovered some really cool natural features. Me and Adria (the other shaper at the park) have worked like maniacs for the past month and half, but we’re super stoked to see all the riders having fun on the track. And now it’s even cooler to see the line–up of pros we have registered to race this weekend.” Jordi Junyent, 4 RIDERS BIKE PARK
And as Jordi mentioned, it is exciting to see the list of pro riders that are lined up to race this weekend in the Catalan Cup. With very little real racing happening at the moment top riders are desperately looking for any way to get between the tapes and against the clock in preparation for whatever this race season will throw at them. It is an honor for us and 4 RIDERS that names like Loic Bruni (not 100% confirmed), Loris Vergier, Amaury Pierron, Thibaut Daprela, Benoit Coulanges, Wyn Masters, Martin Maes, Ethan Craik and Marine Cabirou are on the start list and will hopefully be christening the INTENSE track this weekend.
