FACTORY BUILD: TRACER 279

For many people there is nothing better than building up a bike from scratch. Picking the frame and then selecting all the components that you want to put on it. In my teenage years I would trawl through all the BMX magazines, picking specs and writing down all the prices of make-believe ‘dream builds’. Adding up the costs of all the variations in builds to finally come to the conclusion that I needed to start saving!
Luckily I’m an adult now and I have my own money. I still have to save, but I can at least build some of the bikes that I now dream up. These days it is mountain bikes, and they are a little more complicated than BMX bikes when it comes to components, but the excitement is still the same.
So it came as no great surprise when I heard that part of our INTENSE Europe Austrian/Spanish team wanted to build up one of our new Tracer 279 Enduro frames for ‘personal use’! The frames were just in, the other-worldly SRAM X0 Eagle wireless groupset had just dropped (the one with the rear mech that people are jumping on!), and the team were keen to get it on a bike.
The rest of the handpicked spec is just as high quality, with components from respected brands such as Öhlins, Renthal. Industry Nine, ODI, Cane Creek, Magura, Ergon, PNW Components, Crankbrothers and Maxxis. This is a build that is dripping with the ‘good stuff’.
