AUSTRALIAN MTB NATIONALS
We are back racing, and our first major event was at the Maydena bike park in Tasmania. This marks Intense Australia’s first major event with an all-new team from Intense Australia. This lean and mean team has been put together with the support and influence from the Intense HQ in Temecula, CA and are extremely excited to support the current and new Intense Cycles riders with it’s all new direct to consumer model.
This year was the first year with demos on hand for all who were attending the event. Our team at Intense Cycles Australia was busy all week long with demo rides on a variety of models for the public to try out. We even brought out the all new highly anticipated 2021 Tazer e-bike for riders to experience our interpretation to what an e-bike should be. All week long there was great banter, racing and support for each and every person who stopped by our tent wanting to know more about Intense and our plans for the future.
Enough about the business arcanum, it’s time to go racing! The Australian National Championships is the biggest race of the year for all of the mountain bike disciplines that are ready to do battle for a National Championship jersey and spot for the Australian National team at the World Titles. The Maydena bike park is a perfect location for the National Championship with a world class DH course, one of the toughest XC courses in history and a short track that allowed the best rider to shine. To add to the traditional events Australia Cycling added pump track and the growing e-bike class to this year’s event. The conditions were prime all week long until DH qualifying day when the temps dropped and the sky’s opened up. Qualifying was tricky for everyone but when raced day arrived our Intense for Life ambassadors were ready to do battle. Although we didn’t leave with a National championship to our name, we couldn’t be prouder off all of the Intense Cycles ambassadors. They all left it on the track and flew the Intense flag high.
For those of you who stopped by the tent and more importantly able to ride a bike and speak with one of our team members we want to say Thank You! Racing is our True North and we are excited about the future holds in Australia, New Zealand and other regions of Asia Pacific.
